Day 30: Growing in Faith
"Increase our faith!"
- Luke 17:5
.- Luke 17:5
Lord, You have said in Your Word that You have "dealt to each one a measure of faith" (Romans 12:3). I pray that You would take the faith You have planted in David and Elizabeth and multiply it. May the truth of Your Word be firmly established in their hearts so that faith will grow daily and navigate their lives. Help them to trust You at all times as they look to You for truth, guidance, and transformation into Your likeness. I know that trusting in You is a choice we make. Enable them to make that choice. I pray that they will look to You for everything, knowing that they are never without hope. May their faith be the "substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1). I pray they will have faith strong enough to lift them above their circumstances and limitations and instill in them the confidence of knowing that everything will work together for good (Romans 8:28).
.
I pray that they will be so strong in faith that their relationship to You supersedes all else in their lives - even my influence as a parent. In other words, may they have a relationship with You, Lord, that is truly their own - not an extension of mine of anyone else's. I want the comfort of knowing that when I'm no longer on this earth, their faith will be strong enough to keep them "steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord" (I Corinthians 15:58).
.
As they walk in faith, may they have Your heart of love that overflows to others, a heart that is willing to give of self and possessions according to Your leading. May they see that giving out of love is actually giving back to You in faith and that they will never lose anything by doing so. I pray that they will take the "shield of faith" in order to "quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one" (Ephesians 6:16), and thereby be able to stand strong in faith and say, "I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has enabled me, because He counted me faithful" (I Timothy 1:12). In Jesus' name I pray all of these things, Amen.*
.
If you have faith as a mustard seed,
you will say to this mountain, "Move from here to there,"
and it will move;
nothing will be impossible for you.
- Matthew 17:20

I couldn't have said that prayer any better! I'd love to win that book!
I just got done watching this movie called Facing the Giants which I'd highly recommend, but a neat part of it was this older gentlemen who went down the lockers at the school praying for the students. I think it is without a doubt one of the best things we can do for our kids and I'd love to win this book! I can always learn to pray more effectively!
Hi,
Thanks for leaving me a note on my blog. I love your blog and am currently reading this book. You don't have to enter me in the contest, let someone win who does not have the book. It is so vital to pray for our children and this book gives fantastic outlines.
It's so good to know that there are parents out there that are raising there children up right. I am 30year old and a first time mom. I Prayed for a child for 10 years. God Promised that he would give me a child in his time. I never lost faith in Gods word. I had lost 6 babies.I would never get pass 3 weeks.I never gave up praying for a child. God always knows what hes doing. I had my daughter dec.2006. She was my gift from God.Always give thanks and Never give up on Gods Word.
I'd love to win, too, and your posts are so uplifting! Thank you!
