Day Nine: Instruct Me as I Put My Life in Order

Lord, I pray You would help me set my life in right order. I want to always put You first above all else in my life. Teach me how to love You with all my heart, mind and soul. Show me when I am not doing that. I don't want to have any other gods but You in my life. Show me if I have lifted up my soul to an idol. My desire is to serve You and only You. Help me to live accordingly.

Give me a submissive heart. Help me to always submit to the governing authorities and the correct people in my family, work, and church. Show me who the proper spiritual authorities are to be in my life. Plant me in the church you want me to be in. Help me to move into proper alignment in every area of my life by willingly submitting myself to others where I need to do so. Show me clearly to whom I am to be submitted and how I am to do it. Give me discernment and wisdom about this. Show me any time I am not submitted to the right people in the right way.

I know that if my life is not in proper order I will not receive the blessings You have for me. But I also know that if I seek You first, all that I need will be added to me (Matthew 6:33). I seek You first this day and ask that You would enable me to put my life in perfect order. May I never come out from under the covering of spiritual protection You have placed in my life.* In Jesus' name I pray.

He who finds his life will loose it,
and he who loses his life for My sake
will find it.
- Matthew 10:39
.
And all of you be submissive to one another,
and be clothed in humility,
for "God resists the proud,
but gives grace to the humble."
- I Peter 5:5

Day Ten: His Choices

A wise man will hear and increase learning,
and a man of understanding will attain wise counsel.
- Proverbs 1:5
.
Lord, fill my husband with the fear of the Lord and give him wisdom for every decision he makes. May he reverence You and Your ways and seek to know Your truth. Give him discernment to make decisions based on Your revelation. Help him to make godly choices and keep him from doing anything foolish. Take foolishness out of his heart and enable him to quickly recognize error and avoid it. Open his eyes to clearly see the consequences of any anticipated behavior.
.
I pray that he will listen to godly counselors and not be a man who is unteachable. Give him strength to reject the counsel of the ungodly and hear Your council above all others. I declare that although "there are many plans in a man's heart, nevertheless the Lord's counsel - that will stand" (Proverbs 19:21). Instruct him even as he is sleeping (Psalm 16:7^), and in the morning, I pray he will do what's right rather than follow the leading of his own flesh. I know the wisdom of this world is foolishness with You, Lord (I Corinthians 3:19). May he not buy into it, but keep his eyes on You and have ears to hear Your voice.* In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
.
^ I will praise the Lord, who counsels me;
even at night my heart instructs me.
- Psalm 16:7
.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,
but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
- Proverbs 1:7

Day 29: Seeking Wisdom and Discernment

If any of you lacks wisdom,
let him ask of God,
who gives to all liberally and without reproach,
and it will be given to him.
- James 1:5
.
Lord, I pray that You would give the gifts of wisdom, discernment and revelation to David and Elizabeth. Help them to trust You with all their hearts, not depending on their own understanding, but acknowledging You in all their ways so that they may hear Your clear direction as to which path to take (Proverbs 3:5). Help them to discern good from evil and be sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit saying, "This is the way, walk in it" (Isaiah 30:21). I know that much of their happiness in life depends on gaining wisdom and discernment, which You Word says brings long life, wealth, recognition, protection, enjoyment, contentment, and happiness. I want all those things for them, but I want them to come as blessings from You.
.
Your Word says, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding" (Proverbs 9:10). May a healthy fear and knowledge of You be the foundation upon which wisdom and discernment are established in them. May they turn to You for all decisions so that they don't make poor choices. Help them to see that all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in You and that You give them freely when we ask for them. As they seek wisdom and discernment from You, Lord, pour it liberally upon them so that all their paths will be peace and life.* In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

.
Wisdom is the principle thing;
therefore get wisdom.
And in all your getting, get understanding.
Exalt her, and she will promote you;
she will bring you honor, when you embrace her.
- Proverbs 4:7-8
.
Happy is the man who finds wisdom,
and the man who gains understanding;
for her proceeds are better than the profits of silver,
and her gain than fine gold.
She is more precious than rubies,
and all the things you may desire cannot compare with her.
Length of days is in her right hand,
in her left hand riches and honor.
Her ways are ways of pleasantness,
and all her paths are peace.
She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her,
and happy are all who retain her.
- Proverbs 3:13-18
